Hi, happy to find this place! I'm hoping to find a little encouragement on recovery from a bad crash. I was tested about 6 years ago and my cortisol levels were all low and I was bed ridden for months and then after awhile I got better and was able to lead a more normal life - went on long walks, could maintain a fun life with my hubby and 3 kids. Now after a stressful year and a couple bad viruses and allergies, I am in a state of not being able to be out of bed for long periods of time - which is depressing. I feel like I did 6 years ago - although my mindset is much different ... I'm choosing to try to keep my thoughts positive - I've been here before and have recovered and am looking forward to being on the other side of this (and hopefully remembering all that I've learned in how to manage stress and take care of myself). Anyhow, just looking for others that might have been where I am and are better!!!? =) I started taking licorice root again and that seems to help a bit - I didn't see licorice mentioned on this site, is there a reason why?

There is an article about licorice. www.adrenaladvice.com/licorice-adrenal-fatigue.shtmlIt can be helpful. It's a balancing act since it also lower potassium. So Maybe eat foods with potassium. Some things that can be helpful are meditation, "slow breathing" exercises. You might want to check out the book The Healing Codes. You need a bit of an open mind. I just started doing them again.

Great! Didn't see the article, thanks! I'll take a look into the book as well. Where are you at with your healing journey? Is there a link?? Still getting familiar with the website! =)

Still getting familiar with the website! =) I was doing really well in 2011. Mostly from meditation, Buteyko Breathing, Healing codes. I still had some lingering symptoms, which I pinned down to copper toxicity, and liver issues. I've been on the nutritional balancing program since 2012. The detox is rougher than I thought, plus the stress of it tends to make you more sympathetic dominant. So I've had a bit of a set back. But I'm still able to work just fine .....so I don't want to complain too much. You sound much worse off at the moment. So I am refocusing on meditation and healing codes. Really need to calm my nervous system down again. That is the root cause of all this.
