Is sweating a possible detox symptom? Initially I could not tolerate supplements. Now I can take a multivitamin that has low B-12 (Dr. Ron's) and a little extra Vit C and Magnesium. I'm up to a total of about 800 mg of Vit C and 180 mg of Magnesium, and this is after a long time of building up. I also have to back off sometimes, especially when I do something extra like wear Dr. Lam's Charcoal wraps. Have you ever tried those? I've noticed some sweating in the hands and/or armpits after breakfast, while I didn't really sweat much before. It's not profuse but noticeable. I also had night sweats a few weeks ago which woke me up (legs sweating), but that might have been due to a new valerian supplement.

Lack of sweating is pretty common. And it's probably a good sign that you are sweating again. I believe the lack of sweating is related to dehydration.
Adrenal Fatigue results in low Aldosterone, which results in low sodium, which results in less water being retained. So there is nothing to sweat. And hence the heat intolerance.
I went for years not sweating. When I took licorice in 2008, I would sweat a lot.
I have also correlated it to may sodium levels in hair analysis.
By the way, supplement intolerance is common. I believe it is related to liver issues. The coffee enemas can be helpful. I have not tied the charcoal wraps, but it is nice to see Dr Lam addressing detoxing finally

Wow, so sweating is encouraging!? My feet and armpits are sweaty almost all day - even when I'm not hot. Also, I had some major night sweats recently ... are these a sign of healing? I've never researched it much - just that these things are common in adrenal fatigue ... I'm just looking for signs that I might be recovering?? =)

Susie,
Well, I think it could also be the dysautonomia in your case. Is your sweating a new thing, or has it been there throughout your illness? In my case, I think it is a good sign because I didn't sweat before taking my current supplements. What adrenal fatigue program are you following?
I wish you the best.

I didn't have the sweating like this until the crash. I'm waiting to talk with my dr (he's holistic), so just doing all the things I've learned from the past and Lam and Wilson. =) I couldn't function at all until I started the licorice, but I don't want to do this on my own, so am looking forward to working with my dr. It's just hard after doing so well for so long, but it's a good wake up call to re-prioritize! =) How long have you been ill adrenalhope?

Susie,
Did you work formally with Dr. Lam or NB? Or did you just follow their articles on your own? What was your experience like with them?

I actually worked with a local holistic dr, but read the books/websites of the others and that is where I went when I crashed for reminders. I liked Wilson's book and that is what I used to recover the first time. Dr. Lam's site sorta scares me with how messed up our bodies get from the adrenal fatigue ... but very informative with how all these things work together. Trying to remain hopeful for recovery again, but it's hard when you feel so lousy. I have had "glimpses", so I think I'm headed in the right direction! =)

In regard to night sweats, I stopped them by rubbing peppermint essential oil on my neck when I went to bed. Stopped them quickly.
