Anyone feel worse after exercise? Yup. Very common. Aggressive exercise that boosts your heart rate is actually a short term stressor. I have crashed many times by over doing exercising. I even noticed that my detox symptoms would stop if I exercised. i.e. I would feel pretty good, have a fair amount of energy, and was also experiencing some detox symptoms (rash, insomnia, etc). But if I exercised too much, the detox symptoms would stop. I actually wrote a bit about exercise and adrenal fatigue in this article. www.adrenaladvice.com/exercise-adrenal-fatigue.shtmlIt can be hard to accept, especially since many of us used to exercise pretty hard (typical type A person). I used to compete in triathalons, play tennis tournaments, mountain bike, lift weights. Now it's strictly Yoga, walking, yard work, and home renovations

So because you no longer play tennis and lift weights I assume you are not cured yet. How long has it been? I plan on getting well and getting back in the weight room and on the stair climber as soon as I am able.
Awhile ago I went to the gym and worked out in the weight room(short workout), but worked hard. Felt full of energy afterwords like everyone does. THe next day I was incredibly fatigued. Sheesh!. Now if I even walk at a good speed on a tread mill I immediately feel worse and tired--but feel ok an hour or so later. I figure it is adrenal fatigue--too many energy drinks(lots of them).

Adrenal Fatigue isn't likely JUST from the energy drinks. Stress is cumulative. And excessive exercise is a stressor. Exercise is actually one of the stressor that Dr Hans Selye used on the rats when he discovered the General Adaptation Syndrome (which has unfortunately been renamed Adrenal Fatigue). Add to that hereditary stress, work stress, etc.

I'm afraid I'm too far gone to exercise. I consider myself to have CFS (diagnosed with POTS a few years back, though I now think CFS and Adrenal Fatigue are more accurate). I'm really pushing it when I walk or stand more than ten minutes at a time (sometimes less). And yes, I feel totally drained afterwards.

Hi Adrenalhope! I have Pots as well - I've heard it's common with adrenal fatigue, so am hoping when I recover from the AF the Pots will resolve. I've read alot about pots and in most cases it is curable, so that's encouraging! I'm at the same spot - 10 minutes seems to be my limit right now! It's so hard trying to figure out how much to "push" without pushing too much! I know walking is great, so I try to make sure I get up and walk every hour - other than that I am on my bed.
